Advent candles - children’s activity

Advent candles help us to focus on our countdown to Christmas. As we worship together during this festive season the children’s activity is to make an advent candle each week, linked with the theme .

Instructions

Take a piece of card and write in the centre the “word of the week” Then surround it with pictures/ or drawings which are connected with that word. The example below is for week 1 - waiting. Then roll the decorated card around a battery tea light to make it look like a candle and staple the card together. ( see pictures below)

Also follow this link to meet our advent candle puppets and find our more about what they have to say: https://m.youtube.com/watch?fbclid=IwAR3ELJdIB7gk-nqHHW4OemsPlKmym4wxlLeYA9DPEiQT_9ZNwAAYbz99Nhk&feature=youtu.be&v=Hf0BULMbZJ0
